CORONAVIRUS AND THE ANGARRACK COMMUNITY

The coronavirus has taken a massive step forward today and the effect on our
community is as yet unknown.   We do not need to panic however it's inevitable that it
will affect some/all of us over the coming months. This could be a single person living
alone or whole families who have to self-isolate for anything between 7 and 14 days

So what can we do;-

There are people in the village who are more than happy to collect prescriptions, get provisions etc. if needed.

South Western Ambulance Service Foundation Trust covers 10,000 square miles, 20% of mainland England

Angarrack is proud to announce that after the successful fundraising Angarrack now has a defibrillator available 24/7 for public access. It's on the wall outside the Angarrack Inn on the Steamers Hill side of the pub.

You don't need special training to use it as the machine and 999 ambulance service will talk you through what to do (though training will help make you more familar with the machine and CPR compressions)

1877 | Angarrack Viaduct | Between 12 and 1 o'clock yesterday man named Allen was killed on the Angarrack viaduct

Fatal Railway Accident near Hayle.— Between 12 and 1 o'clock yesterday a man named Allen was killed on the Angarrack viaduct of the West Cornwall Railway. A gang of men were engaged repairing the viaduct, and a luggage train passed, the break van struck Allen, knocking him under the wheels, which passed over his head, killing turn instantly. Deceased was a native of Penpoads, Camborne, and leaves wife and four children.
