Town & Parish Council Elections

The local Town Council Elections took place on 6 May 2021. There has been a bit of change and we welcome two new members, Emily Brown and Marcus Hayward. Their contact details, along with those of the other successfully re-elected members, Steve Benney, Brian Capper, Graham Coad, June Lawrenson-Reid, John Pollard and Anne-Marie Rance, are available on the parish noticeboards and the town council website.  read more »

Election arrangements for Hayle Town Council 2021

The next election for all seats on Hayle Town Council will take place on Thursday 6 May 2021.

The voting and election process is organised and managed by Cornwall Council and all registered residents of Hayle Parish should have already received notification and voting forms through the post. This will also include details of the polling station for your area, whichwill be open from 7am to 10pm that day.  read more »

Peter Channon told the committee that “a dreadful state has befallen Hayle” with the development. He compared the development site as looking like a bombed site in Beirut.

Arrangements for Hayle Town Council

Hayle Town Council has seats for 15 councillors, which between them, serve 2 wards in the Parish area of Hayle, which includes Phillack and Angarrack.

Following the Electoral Review in 2019 and the more recent Community Governance Review the ward boundaries of the Parish have changed so that the following seats will be contested in the 2021 elections:  read more »

THE HAYLE EXPLOSION.

  At Hayle the inquiry into the cause of the death of the four men killed by the recent dynamite explosion at the National Explosives Company's works has been concluded.

  Thomas Vincent Jory said he heard two explosions, and saw smoke issuing from the precipitating house first, and then from the filtering house, both of which were demolished.  read more »
