A plume of high pressured water shot into the air yesterday when a digger struck a water main while digging in a busy road in Truro city centre. A man who was arrested for drink-driving outside people's homes was caught again in the same street the following day. On both occasions, Kevin Andrew Birkett, 57, was behind the wheel of his VW Polo having drunk enough alcohol to be four times over the legal limit.
