The bank Santander has announced that it is to close its branch in Helston due to a lack of customers. It follows the closure of the HSBC branch from the town and many similar closures elsewhere in Cornwall by Lloyds. Santander said its bank in Meneage Street will close on December 14. Police said the A38 crash which claimed the lives of three people including a young child happened after a car stopped on the side of the road. Officers have confirmed that a 32-year-old woman and her six-year-old son, from Saltash, and a 53-year-old man, from Plymouth, died in the crash.
