HAYLE PENWITH U3A:

Hayle U3A has the following programme this week.  Today, Thursday October 6, at 10am there is Games; then at 12.30pm for 1pm the U3A luncheon takes place at Tehidy Golf Club  On Tuesday October 11 at 10am there is Art then at 2pm the Film club meets.  All sessions except Writing are held in the Philip Smith annexe to the Hayle Day Care Centre.  The Writing is held in Hayle Library.

OLD CORNWALL SOCIETY:

The next meeting of Hayle Old Cornwall Society is next Friday, October 7, at the Passmore Edwards Institute, Hayle, at 7.30pm The speaker will be Jean Charman talking about Godrevy and Gwithian in the good old days. Afterwards there will be light refreshments. All welcome - come along and hear some great local stories.

HAYLE FILM CLUB:

Love & Friendship. Saturday October 8 at 7.30pm.

A scandalous romp by Jane Austen at her most satirical, turning the traditional romance on its head. Amoral, flirtatious widow Lady Susan (Kate Beckinsale) is seeking husbands for herself and her daughter, and conducting an affair with a married man. Do not expect a moral ending.

ZUMBA:

Come and enjoy some Zumba with Catherine every Tuesday at Phillack Church Hall, starting at 11:30am until 12:30pm. Call 07528135146 for more information.

HAYLE TWINNING ASSOCIATION:

The Association shopping trip to Exeter on Saturday November 5 only has 12 seats left so anyone wishing to travel with them should please call Maurice on 01736 753341. Pick up points and times are, Camborne Tesco at 7:45am, Treloweth Close St Erth at 8am, St Erth church at 8:02am, Mellanear Road at 8:04am, Barclays bank at 8:08am, Copperhouse at 8:11am, LIDL at 8:15am. The coach will leave Exeter at 4:15pm and should be back at around 7pm. The cost is £15p.p. so do give Maurice a call.

Hayle friends CHSW would like to thank all those who supported the evening of entertainment held at the Badger on October 1.  Special thanks to the Badger for allowing the use of the venue and to Proper Job who supplied the music.  A total of £208.50 was raised to support CHSW Little Harbour, Cornwall's own children's hospice.

ST ELWYN'S CHURCH:

On Sunday October 9, St Elwyn's Feast of Dedication, the Parish Eucharist will be celebrated by the Reverend Sharon Clifton at 9.30 am. On Wednesday October 12, Said Eucharist will be celebrated by the Reverend Patricia Murley at 10 am. Tea, coffee and biscuits are served after each service.

ST.JOSEPH'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, HAYLE:

St Joseph's Church in Hayle is part of the Roman Catholic Parish of the Holy Family. Father Philip celebrated the 6.30pm Mass on Saturday October 1 when the readings were from Amos - Timothy and gospel by Luke.

There is Mass this Friday at 10am.

The final total for Hayle Walk for Cornwall Hospice Care was £1,500.

The Russian Choir from St Petersburg will be visiting again for another excellent evening of music on Monday, October 17 at 7.30pm. They are not to be missed!
